I can write anything and someone might read it. How exciting.

My name is Elena.

I’m 26 years old, non-binary, and I live in Finland. It’s where I’m from, but that’s where the relationship seems to end.

I don’t know how to put the past year into words, so I'll leave that for later. The present feels plenty, for now.

It feels very 2010 to be excited about blogging, but I am excited. I was too young for the blog boom, but I think we can bring that back. We need to disperse and decentralize. It’s what Frank Herbert wrote about.

I don’t know how much I will censor myself when writing like this. Likely little. What’s the point of putting yourself out there if you’re only going half way. (All of me for all of you?)

I always falter when asked about hobbies. (Is this a hobby?) I falter when asked about occupation, too (I’m on medical leave), but that doesn’t matter.

There’s always an injustice done when something is given a name or a title. Something gets added which does not belong. Something is forgotten which does. People change their names for a reason, and events and objects are just as changed by names as people are.

I’m really into books. I’m also really into computers, but that’s complicated. I like gardening, forests, cannabis, psilocybin. Adhd keeps me on the move. Medicine keeps me functional. I study geology. I’m married.

Words are important. Names are important.
